I took this image while after finishing a wonderful meal in Parwa community restaurant in Huchuy Qosqo, Cusco, Peru. I strolled around the grounds where they had an organic vegetable garden and beautiful landscaped pathways. This little bee caught my eye as he lingered collecting pollen.
I caught this hummingbird in the Butterfly Sanctuary in Aguas Calientes the day before I headed to Machu Pitchu. So hard to get a shot as they are so quick and small
Took this picture of this beautifully coloured flame faced Tanager while sitting in the seating area in the Butterfly Sanctuary in Aguas Calientes in Peru. Took a while for the birds to come along as we waited patiently in the viewing area. This is by far my favourite one with its bright vibrant yellow coloured head.
This sand crab was hard at work one evening on the beach in Port Douglas. I was waiting on a friend and just relaxing when out of the corner of my eye I saw something moving in the sand. He scurried away when I went to get a closer look. I lay motionless on the sand waiting for him to come back out of his burrow and go back to work rolling the sand.
I ventured into the Amazon and stayed at Tambopata Eco Lodge. We had a free afternoon so I read my book lying on my hammock and heard this flitting sound. Eventually I realized it was a hummingbird coming back and forth to a plant right in from of my lodge. I waited patiently for it to come back and tried so many times to get a clear shot. Patience paid off in the end.
I love the way sunlight gently touches leaves, trees and nature in general. It gives a sense of hope and this picture I took captures the light hitting this new leaf growing on the side of the tree.
Saw this little guy while waiting to board a bus on Fraser island. I caught a glimpse of something moving close by and he just sat there while I got closer to take the shot.
Watching this Grizzly bear roam around his mountaintop habitat on Grouse Mountain, Vancouver was mesmerizing. I have never seen a bear in real life and it was such an amazing experience.
Saw this little slug moving slowly through the morning dew on a weekend break in Kerry.
Tofino, Vancouver Island was where this beauty was circling high in the sky and luckily I had my long lens to catch it in flight.
There is a thought that when a Robin comes to see you it is a loved one who has passed.
This was taken on the lower level of Spike Island.
Strolling through the park in Warsaw in Spring we did not expect to see a fawn grazing by the lake. We stood there for ages in awe as he looked at us, he finally went back to grazing.
The vibrant colours and eye-catching centres of peacock feathers always draw me in.
Cheeky chipmunk hiding among the habitat on Grouse Mountain and was lucky enough to get a quick shot of him when he came into view .
While in Tambopata EcoLodge the group went on a night excursion around the grounds close to the lodge. Armed with a head torch and camera in hand, I searched for wildlife in the darkness. of course. Lots of insects, spiders and such unusual sounds in the dark rain forest. Our guide pointed out this tree frog perched on this branch which stayed while we got some photos.
